OCCUPATIONAL ENGLISH TEST



                             The Occupational English Test (OET) is an English Language Test for healthcare professionals that is recognised by a number of regulatory organizations. It evaluates the language test for healthcare professionals who want to register and practise in an English-speaking country. 

                            OET is used to assess the Medical English skills of a wide range of foreign healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, chemists, dentists, veterinarians, and allied health professionals, in the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and Singapore, among others. The OET was created in the late 1980s under contract with the Australian government. Since then, the test has been regularly researched and updated to ensure that it is in line with current theory and practise in language assessment. Every year, OET is held 14 times.

                            These four papers are skill-based: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. The Listening and Reading papers are intended to measure a candidate's ability to understand spoken and written English while focusing on health-related topics and tasks that are common to all professions. The Writing and Speaking papers are intended to mirror common workplace activities.
